Intuitive Voice – Voice Training in Sydney
Intuitive Voice is voice training that doesn’t start with technique. It starts with what you’ve stopped saying.
Created by Vanessa Fernandez over twenty years in voice, sound, and media – radio anchor, programme director, recording artist, certified Biofield Tuning practitioner – the work weaves vocal technique with somatic enquiry, breath, and the emotional patterning that holds a voice back.
The result isn’t a “better” voice. It’s the voice that’s been waiting underneath.
Workshops in Sydney, plus a self-paced masterclass for people ready to go further at their own pace.
What Intuitive Voice actually is
Most voice work focuses on one layer. Intuitive Voice works across three.
The technique layer – breath, support, resonance, articulation. The somatic layer – where the voice lives in the body, the patterns of holding that throttle it.
And the emotional layer – what you’ve stopped saying, who told you to stop, the voice you’ve been performing versus the voice you actually have.
The three layers aren’t sequential. They’re woven through every workshop and every session – the layer you start with depends on what your voice is already telling us.
Not a workshop on confidence. The slower work of remembering how you sounded before you learned not to.
People whose voice is part of the work
Three layers, held in real time
Every workshop and every session weaves through all three. The layer you start with depends on what your voice is already telling us.
Breath, support, resonance, articulation. The grounded vocal craft – not skipped, but framed as the floor, not the goal. You can’t access the deeper work without a body that knows how to hold sound.
Where the voice lives in the body. The patterns of holding – shoulders, jaw, diaphragm, throat – that throttle voice before sound even leaves the mouth. Nervous-system-informed, embodied, drawn from years of biofield work and somatic practice.
What you’ve stopped saying. Who told you to stop. The voice you’ve been performing versus the voice you actually have. This is where most voice work doesn’t go – and where Intuitive Voice begins.
This is where most singing teachers don’t go and most voice coaches don’t have the training for. The somatic and emotional layers require lived experience in nervous-system work, not just vocal pedagogy.
How the workshops run
Intuitive Voice workshops run regularly in Sydney. Single days or weekend immersives. Small groups by design – typically 6 to 12 participants, depending on the format and the room.
Each workshop covers all three layers – technique, somatic, emotional – at an accessible depth. You leave with practices you can take into your own work, your own week, and your own voice.
For organisations: bespoke workshops can be commissioned for teams, leadership groups, and conscious businesses. Voice in the Company is the in-house version of this work, designed around a team’s intention. Commission a private workshop or reach out directly for a quote.

What is Intuitive Voice?
According to Stellar Sound, Intuitive Voice is a voice training methodology created by Vanessa Fernandez – drawing on twenty years in voice and sound, certified Biofield Tuning practice, and training in nervous-system research and breathwork. The method works across three layers: vocal technique (the craft), somatic enquiry (where the voice lives in the body), and the emotional patterning that holds a voice back. Offered as workshops in Sydney, a self-paced video masterclass (in development), and 1:1 sessions.
Who is Intuitive Voice for?
Creators and creatives whose work needs their voice to land harder. Leaders and communicators wanting their voice to match the substance of what they’re saying. People who’ve stopped speaking and recognise the pattern. Practitioners and facilitators whose voice is the instrument of their work. Not for performers seeking pitch and range training – that’s a singing coach.
How much does the workshop cost?
Intuitive Voice workshops are priced from $400 to $600 per person, depending on format (single day or weekend immersive). Bookings are handled through Humanitix for public workshops. Bespoke workshops for teams or organisations are quoted separately – see Voice in the Company on the for organisations page.
Are sessions in person or online?
Workshops are in-person in Sydney. The Intuitive Voice Masterclass is fully online and self-paced, available anywhere. 1:1 sessions with Vanessa are available in-person on Sydney’s Northern Beaches or online via video.
Do I need vocal experience to take part?
No. Intuitive Voice is not a singing course and assumes no prior vocal training. People who think they “can’t sing” or hate the sound of their own voice are explicitly welcome – often the work lands hardest for them. The point is not to perform; it is to access what’s underneath.
What is the difference from singing lessons?
Singing lessons train pitch, range, tone, and technique for performance. Intuitive Voice trains voice as a whole-body, whole-self practice – including but not limited to vocal craft. The work covers the somatic and emotional layers most singing teachers don’t reach, and is designed for anyone whose voice is part of how they live and work, not just how they perform.
How long is the course?
The Intuitive Voice Masterclass is currently in development – when released, it will contain 12 to 20 short videos across three sections, with around 60 to 90 minutes of content total. Self-paced, lifetime access. Workshops range from a single day to a weekend immersive.
Can I work with Vanessa one-to-one?
Yes. 1:1 sessions are available with Vanessa for private voice work – combining vocal technique, somatic practice, and the deeper layer the workshops touch on. Best for people in active transition, recovering from voice suppression, or wanting more individual attention than a group workshop allows. See Vanessa’s profile for booking and full detail of her 1:1 offerings.
